Privacy policy

EveryAny.One is a publication, not a platform. There are no accounts, no logins and nothing to sign up for beyond an email newsletter. This page describes every piece of data the site collects, why it exists, and how to have it removed.

The short version

  • You can read the entire site without giving us anything but a page view.
  • We measure traffic with Google Analytics. That sets cookies and sends your visit to Google.
  • The only other data we hold is what you type into a form yourself: a message, a listing submission, or a newsletter email address.
  • We never store your IP address. We store a one-way hash of it, to throttle abuse.
  • We do not sell data, run advertising, or share form data with vendors we write about.

Analytics and cookies

This site uses Google Analytics 4, a web analytics service provided by Google, on every page. It is loaded through the Google tag (gtag.js) under the measurement ID G-FR36ZH92J5. We use it for one purpose: to understand which pages are read, which are ignored, and roughly where readers come from, so we know what to research and write next.

Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser (typically _ga and _ga_<container>) which hold a randomly generated identifier used to recognise a returning browser across pages and visits. It collects the pages you view and when, the referring link or search that brought you here, your approximate location derived from your IP address, and technical details such as browser, operating system, device type, screen size and language. That information is transmitted to and processed by Google, which may store it on servers outside your country, and it is governed by Google's own privacy terms as well as this policy.

We have configured it as plainly as it comes. We do not enable Google Signals or advertising features, we do not build remarketing audiences, we do not run Google Ads or any other advertising network on this site, and we do not send Google anything you type into a form. Google Analytics 4 does not log your full IP address; addresses are used in transit to derive a coarse location and are then discarded by Google rather than stored. Individual visitors are never identified to us by name, and we never attempt to link analytics data to a message, submission or newsletter subscription.

Declining it. Nothing on this site is withheld from readers who block analytics, and we would rather you block it than feel watched. You can refuse the cookies in your browser settings, use any content blocker, install Google's official browser opt-out add-on, or browse privately. Every page renders identically either way.

Google Analytics is the only third-party service loaded into these pages. Fonts, images, stylesheets and scripts are all served from our own domain, so reading the site does not quietly announce your visit to anybody else.

What you send us deliberately

Three forms on this site collect data, and only when you submit them.

  • Contact. Your name, email address, the topic you picked, an optional subject, your message, and the page you were on when you opened the form. The message is stored so it cannot be lost to a mail outage, and a copy is emailed to our editors so we can reply.
  • Submit your SaaS. The product details you provide, plus your name and work email so we can verify the submission is genuine and come back to you about it.
  • Newsletter. Your email address and which page you subscribed from. Nothing else.

With each form submission we also record the browser user agent, and a hashed identifier derived from your IP address as described below. We ask for nothing we do not need, and none of these forms requires a real name to work.

IP addresses

We do not store IP addresses. When a form is submitted, the address is combined with a secret salt and put through a SHA-256 hash, and only a truncated fragment of that hash is written to our database. The result is a value that recognises repeat submissions from the same source within a rate-limiting window and cannot be turned back into an address. It is used for abuse throttling and nothing else.

Separately, our host processes IP addresses in transit in order to deliver pages and to block attacks. That is a function of connecting to any website, and we do not retain those logs as a dataset of our own.

Who else handles it

  • Google (Google Analytics 4) — traffic measurement, as described above.
  • Cloudflare — hosting, content delivery and the database in which form submissions are stored.
  • Brevo — the transactional email provider that delivers form notifications to our editors and our replies to you.

That is the complete list. We do not sell, rent or trade personal data, we do not operate an advertising or data-broker relationship, and we never pass a message or submission to the vendor of the product it concerns. Where a profile links to a vendor, following that link takes you to their site under their privacy terms, not ours.

How long we keep it

  • Messages and submissions are kept while they are useful as editorial record — a correction is evidence of why a page changed — and are deleted on request.
  • Newsletter addresses are kept until you unsubscribe, after which the record is marked as opted out so we do not mail you again by accident, and is erased entirely on request.
  • Hashed IP fragments exist only for rate limiting and carry no meaning once the window has passed.
  • Analytics data is retained by Google under its own schedule; we hold only the aggregate reports it produces.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access the data we hold about you, to correct it, to have it erased, to object to processing, or to receive a copy. We honour those requests wherever you live rather than checking your jurisdiction first.

Email [email protected] from the address in question, or use the contact form. Say what you want done. We will confirm when it is done, normally within thirty days, and we will not ask you to justify the request.

Children

This site is written for people buying and building business software. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has sent us something, tell us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we add a service that collects data, this page changes before it ships, and the date at the top changes with it. We hold ourselves to the same standard here as on the rest of the site: the date tells you when it was last true.
