Deel handles global hiring: employer of record in 130 or more countries, contractor management and payments in over 120 currencies, US co-employment through a PEO, and global payroll. Rather than plan tiers it publishes a price per service, which makes it one of the few platforms in this category where you can budget from the website.

What Deel actually costs over a year
A monthly price is not the same thing as a monthly contract. These are the plans above multiplied out to twelve months, per seat or unit where the plan is charged that way.
| Plan | Monthly | Over 12 months |
|---|---|---|
| Find talentper worker | $14 | $168 |
| Hire contractorsper contractor | $49 | $588 |
| Contractor of Recordper contractor | $325 | $3900 |
| US PEOper US employee | $125 | $1500 |
| EORper employee | $599 | $7188 |
Which Deel plan should you buy?
| Your situation | Recommended | Why |
|---|---|---|
| You are engaging international contractors | Hire contractors | $49 per contractor a month for compliant contracts, invoicing and payment in 120+ currencies. |
| Your contractors look a lot like employees | Contractor of Record | $325 transfers misclassification risk to Deel. Whether the $276 premium is worth it is a legal question, not a software one. |
| You want to employ someone abroad with no local entity | EOR | $599 per employee a month, and cheap against incorporating in a country you are only testing. |
| You are hiring across US states | US PEO | $125 per employee for co-employment in all 50 states with benefits included. |
| You have roughly ten or more staff in one country | Price your own entity instead | Ten EOR employees is about $72,000 a year in fees alone, which approaches the cost of a local entity with payroll and accounting. |
| Your team is entirely domestic | Do not buy Deel | Local payroll is far cheaper. Deel solves a cross-border problem you do not have. |
Verdict by who you are
Startup making its first international hireYes
EOR removes months of legal and entity work for a predictable monthly fee, and Deel publishes that fee, which most of this category refuses to do.
Company paying contractors worldwideYes
Compliant contracts and multi-currency payment at $49 is straightforwardly good value.
Company with 20 staff in one foreign countryNo
EOR economics invert at scale. Open an entity and use Deel's global payroll for it instead.
Domestic-only employerNo
Nothing here helps you. Use local payroll.
Buyer wanting one platform feeCompare first
Costs stack per service rather than bundling, so a multi-service setup is several line items.

- Companies needing worker classification handled properly
Do not buy Deel if…

- Very large headcounts abroad, where an entity becomes cheaper

Our assessment
Deel solves a problem that is otherwise genuinely hard: employing someone in a country where you have no legal entity, without getting the employment law wrong. At $599 per employee per month for employer of record that is cheap against the cost of incorporating, and the contractor product at $49 is straightforwardly good value for compliant international payments. Two things deserve thought. The economics invert at scale, since roughly ten employees in one country at EOR rates approaches the cost of running your own entity there, and Deel will tell you this if asked. And the published prices are per service, so a company using recruiting, contractors and EOR together is adding three line items rather than paying one platform fee.
What works in Deel
- Publishes real per-service prices, unlike most of this category
- EOR coverage in more than 130 countries
- Contractor of Record genuinely transfers classification risk
- Localised contracts and tax handling done properly
What doesn't
- EOR becomes expensive relative to opening an entity at scale
- Costs stack per service rather than bundling
- Contractor of Record at $325 is a large premium over $49
- Little reason to use it for a domestic-only team

Deel competitors and alternatives
| Alternative | Why you might pick it instead |
|---|---|
| Remote | Very similar EOR coverage, worth pricing side by side. |
| Rippling | Broader HR and IT platform, but no published pricing. |
| Oyster | Another EOR competitor, often cheaper for small headcounts. |
Priced per service, not per plan
Deel does not sell tiers. It sells services, each with its own per-person monthly price:
| Service | Price | What it covers |
|---|---|---|
| Find talent | $14 per worker/month | Sourcing, screening, offers |
| Hire contractors | $49 per contractor/month | Contracts, invoicing, payment |
| Contractor of Record | $325 per contractor/month | Deel becomes the contracting party |
| US PEO | $125 per employee/month | Co-employment in all 50 states |
| EOR | $599 per employee/month | Legal employment in 130+ countries |
This is unusually transparent for the category, and it means you can model a budget without a sales call. It also means costs add up rather than bundle: recruiting five people, running eight contractors and employing two abroad is three separate lines.
At the time we checked, Deel was advertising US PEO free for three months as a limited-time offer. Time-limited offers expire, so treat that as a reason to ask rather than a rate to plan on.
When EOR stops being the cheap option
Employer of record is excellent value for your first hire in a country and poor value for your twentieth. At $599 a month, ten employees in one country is roughly $72,000 a year in EOR fees alone, which is in the region of what incorporating and running a local entity costs, with payroll and accounting on top.
The rule of thumb worth applying: use EOR to enter a market and test it, and revisit once headcount there reaches somewhere around five to ten people. Deel also sells global payroll for entities you own, so the migration path exists.
Contractor of Record is insurance, priced accordingly
The jump from $49 to $325 buys a transfer of risk. Under Contractor of Record, Deel becomes the party engaging the contractor and carries the misclassification exposure. Whether that is worth $276 a month per person depends entirely on your jurisdiction and how genuinely independent your contractors are.
For clearly independent contractors invoicing for project work, the $49 product is enough. For long-term, full-time-looking contractors in a country with aggressive enforcement, the premium is cheaper than a reclassification finding. That is a question for a lawyer, not a software directory, and anyone telling you otherwise is guessing.
Against Rippling
Rippling is the broader platform and covers IT and spend as well as HR, but it publishes no prices. Deel is the specialist for hiring across borders and tells you what it costs. If global employment is the problem you actually have, start here.
