Two dials change the price
Omnisend’s pricing page has a list size slider and a “Pay 3 months upfront (save 30%)” toggle that is switched on by default. Both move every figure on the page.
Read at 251 to 500 contacts with the discount applied, Standard shows as $11.20 a month and Pro as $41.30. Those are the discounted rates. The underlying monthly prices are $16 and $59, billed as $48 and $177 per quarter, or $33.60 and $123.90 per quarter with the prepay discount.
The figures recorded on this profile are the undiscounted monthly prices, because that is what you pay without committing three months in advance. Move the slider to your own contact count before comparing with anything else; the ladder climbs steadily from there.
You are billed for people who never subscribed
Worth quoting, because it catches stores out. Omnisend bills for subscribers and non-subscribers who received automated messages. Contacts who have unsubscribed are not billed.
So a transactional or post-purchase flow that touches customers who never joined your marketing list still adds to your billable count. Check how many contacts your automations actually reach, not how many people opted in.
Sending limits differ by plan
Free allows up to 500 emails a month. Standard allows 12 times your list size. Pro is described as unlimited, with fair use stated as up to 60 times your list size. For most stores Standard’s multiple is ample; for anyone sending several campaigns a week to a small list it is the constraint that forces the upgrade rather than the contact count.
Against Klaviyo, fairly
Omnisend’s own page advertises saving up to 35% versus Klaviyo, and on price it generally delivers. What Klaviyo gives you for the difference is a stronger data model, predictive metrics such as expected date of next order, and reporting that stands up to real analysis. If your marketing is a handful of proven flows, Omnisend is the better value. If you are building segmentation that depends on modelled customer behaviour, Klaviyo earns its premium.
The free migration offer is real and removes most of the switching cost, which makes trying it cheap in effort as well as money.
