Our assessment
Bitbucket is a competent Git host that is chosen for its neighbours rather than itself. If your team plans in Jira, the automatic linking between issues, branches and deployments removes real friction, and at $3.65 per user it undercuts most alternatives. Outside the Atlassian estate the case largely evaporates: the Pipelines ecosystem is small next to GitHub Actions, the community and integration gravity all sit elsewhere, and nobody arrives at a new job already fluent in it. The 5-user free tier is also tight for a growing team compared with GitHub's unlimited collaborators.
