What Zoho CRM actually costs over a year
A monthly price is not the same thing as a monthly contract. These are the plans above resolved both ways, per seat or unit where the plan is charged that way. Where a vendor quotes only a yearly figure it is divided by twelve rather than left out, and the Quoted column says which figure the vendor actually publishes.
| Plan | Quoted | Monthly | Over 12 months |
|---|---|---|---|
| Standardper user, billed annually | per month | $14 | $168 |
| Professionalper user, billed annually | per month | $23 | $276 |
| Enterpriseper user, billed annually | per month | $40 | $480 |
| Ultimateper user, billed annually | per month | $52 | $624 |
Zoho CRM pricing against its competitors
Compared on the smallest invoice each vendor will accept, not on the advertised per-seat rate. Where a product has a seat minimum, the figure below is the minimum times the rate, because that is the cheque you would actually write.
| Product | Cheapest paid entry | Free plan | Against Zoho CRM |
|---|---|---|---|
| HubSpot | $7 a month | Yes | −$7 a month (−50%) |
| Zoho CRM | $14 a month | Yes | This product |
| Salesforce | $25 a month | Yes | +$11 a month (+79%) |
Which Zoho CRM plan should you buy?
| Your situation | Recommended | Why |
|---|---|---|
| You are a very small team testing a CRM | Free | Limited users and features, but genuinely usable for a first pipeline. |
| You need a working CRM at the lowest credible cost | Standard | The entry paid tier, and dramatically cheaper per seat than Salesforce or HubSpot. |
| You need automation and deeper customisation | Professional or Enterprise | Where most Zoho CRM buyers settle, still well below competitor pricing. |
| You use several Zoho products | Consider Zoho One | The bundle changes the arithmetic substantially if you adopt the wider suite. |
| Interface polish matters to your team | Consider Pipedrive or HubSpot instead | Zoho's capability per dollar is excellent; its interface consistency is not its strength, and reps who dislike a CRM do not update it. |
Verdict by who you are
Cost-conscious small businessYes
Most of what mid-market teams use Salesforce for, at a fraction of the price. On value this is hard to beat.
Company already using Zoho productsYes
The suite integration is genuine, and Zoho One makes the whole estate cheap.
Sales team that resists CRM adminCompare first
Adoption is the risk. Pipedrive is more pleasant, and a CRM nobody updates is worthless regardless of price.
Enterprise with complex requirementsCompare first
Capable, but the consultant ecosystem is much smaller than Salesforce's.
Should you buy Zoho CRM?
Buy Zoho CRM if…
- Small and mid-sized sales teams on a real budget
- Businesses wanting CRM, help desk and finance from one vendor
- Companies that want customisation without enterprise pricing
Do not buy Zoho CRM if…
- Enterprises needing a deep consultancy and app ecosystem
- Teams who value interface polish above capability per dollar
- Organisations wanting best-in-class in any single discipline
What leaving Zoho CRM would cost
moderate lock-in
Zoho CRM scores on public API. Portability 5/10 ; lock-in is the inverse. How this is calculated.
The price comparison that matters
Set Zoho Enterprise at $40 per user per month against Salesforce Enterprise at $175 and HubSpot Professional, and the gap is not marginal. For a fifteen-person sales team that is roughly $24,000 a year in difference. The honest question is not whether Zoho matches Salesforce feature for feature, but whether the features you would actually use are present. For most mid-market teams they are.
Where the savings are recovered
Two places. First, configuration: Zoho gives you the tools but less guidance, so the setup work you would have paid a Salesforce consultant to do lands internally. Second, support: responses are slower and documentation is patchier, which costs time when something breaks.
Budget for someone owning the implementation. If nobody can, the cheaper licence is a false economy.
The suite is the strategic argument
Zoho sells over fifty applications, and they share data properly. A company can run CRM, help desk, accounting, email marketing, HR and project management on one vendor for less than a single competitor’s CRM. That consolidation is genuinely valuable to a growing business, and it is why Zoho retains customers who could afford to leave.
Where it is the wrong choice
Enterprises with complex, regulated sales processes should still look at Salesforce, mainly for the depth of available expertise. Teams who need marketing automation as the primary engine will find HubSpot better built for it. And organisations that judge software on interface quality will find Zoho a hard sell internally regardless of what it does.
