What Pipedrive actually costs over a year

A monthly price is not the same thing as a monthly contract. These are the plans above resolved both ways, per seat or unit where the plan is charged that way. Where a vendor quotes only a yearly figure it is divided by twelve rather than left out, and the Quoted column says which figure the vendor actually publishes.

Which Pipedrive plan should you buy?

Recommended Pipedrive plan by situation
Your situationRecommendedWhy
You want a pipeline working this afternoonLite$14 per seat billed annually. Deals, pipeline and email, with no administrator required.
You need automation and real reportingGrowth$39 per seat, and the tier most sales teams settle on.
You need forecasting and team managementPremium$59 per seat, bought by sales managers rather than by reps.
You need granular permissions and security controlsUltimate$79 per seat, usually an IT or compliance requirement.
You also want marketing automationConsider HubSpot insteadPipedrive is a sales CRM. HubSpot puts marketing and sales on one record, which Pipedrive does not attempt.
You have complex territory and quota rulesConsider Salesforce insteadThat configurability is exactly what Pipedrive trades away for simplicity.

Verdict by who you are

  • Small sales team without a CRM adminYes

Works immediately, and reps actually update it, which is the only measure of a CRM that matters.

  • Founder running their own pipelineYes

$14 a seat and no configuration project. The most direct route to a working pipeline.

  • Company needing marketing and sales togetherNo

HubSpot is the tool for that. Bolting marketing onto Pipedrive means another subscription.

  • Enterprise with complex sales operationsNo

Territory management, quotas and heavy customisation are Salesforce territory.

Should you buy Pipedrive?

Buy Pipedrive if…

  • Small and mid-sized sales teams wanting a pipeline that works immediately
  • Organisations without a CRM administrator
  • Teams whose process is genuinely a pipeline rather than a platform

Do not buy Pipedrive if…

  • Companies needing marketing automation in the same tool
  • Enterprises with complex territory and quota management
  • Teams wanting one platform across sales, service and commerce

What leaving Pipedrive would cost

5/10 Lock-in

moderate lock-in

Pipedrive scores on public API. Portability 5/10 ; lock-in is the inverse. How this is calculated.

Buy Growth, not Lite

Lite at $14 gives you a pipeline, contacts and email. It does not include workflow automation or useful reporting, which are the two things a sales manager asks for within the first month. Growth at $39 is the realistic plan for a team rather than a solo seller, and pricing the evaluation at $14 sets up a disappointing conversation later.

Activity-based selling is the actual idea

Most CRMs record what happened. Pipedrive insists every deal has a scheduled next action, and shows you the deals that do not. That single constraint is why reps who ignore other CRMs tend to keep Pipedrive current: it tells them what to do today rather than asking them to document yesterday.

Where the ceiling is

Pipedrive is a sales tool. When the organisation wants marketing automation on the same contact record, a service desk sharing the same customer, or quote-to-cash, it does not stretch and the add-ons do not really close the gap. That is the point at which teams move to HubSpot or Salesforce, and the migration is easier if you expected it.

Against the obvious alternatives

HubSpot’s free CRM undercuts Pipedrive’s entry price entirely, so the honest comparison is Pipedrive Growth against HubSpot Starter or Professional. Pipedrive wins on simplicity and immediate usability; HubSpot wins on breadth and on having somewhere to grow into. Zoho CRM is cheaper than both and asks more of you in return.

Pipedrive questions, answered

Is Pipedrive worth it?
Pipedrive is the correct choice for a specific and very common situation: a sales team that needs a pipeline, has no administrator, and will not use anything that requires training.
How much does Pipedrive cost?
Lite from $14 per seat/month billed annually. The cheapest paid tier we recorded is Lite, published at $14 a month, which works out at $14 a month or $168 over a year. Verified against the vendor's pricing page.
Does Pipedrive have a free plan or free trial?
Pipedrive has no free plan. A free trial is available: 14 days.
What is the best Pipedrive alternative?
It depends on the job. HubSpot: Free CRM and much stronger marketing tooling, at a higher real cost. Zoho CRM: Cheaper with more configurability, and a denser interface. Salesforce: The enterprise answer when your process outgrows a pipeline.
Can I self-host Pipedrive?
No. Pipedrive is a hosted service only, so your data lives on the vendor's infrastructure.
