What Microsoft Dynamics 365 actually costs over a year
A monthly price is not the same thing as a monthly contract. These are the plans above resolved both ways, per seat or unit where the plan is charged that way. Where a vendor quotes only a yearly figure it is divided by twelve rather than left out, and the Quoted column says which figure the vendor actually publishes.
| Plan | Quoted | Monthly | Over 12 months |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sales Professionalper user | per month | $65 | $780 |
| Sales Enterpriseper user | per month | $105 | $1,260 |
| Sales Premiumper user | per month | $150 | $1,800 |

Compiled 18 September 2026 from the Internet Archive Wayback Machine. Plan names were matched against the archived page text and the first currency-anchored figure within 160 characters was recorded, rejecting any figure with a competing plan name standing between it and the name it was matched to. The currency and the unit were read from each capture rather than assumed: captures served in a currency other than $, and captures where no plan name sat beside a figure, are listed as unread rather than dropped. Archived pages show the price as served to the archive's crawler, which may differ by region from the price you are shown.
Microsoft Dynamics 365 pricing against its competitors
Compared on the smallest invoice each vendor will accept, not on the advertised per-seat rate. Where a product has a seat minimum, the figure below is the minimum times the rate, because that is the cheque you would actually write.
| Product | Cheapest paid entry | Free plan | Against Microsoft Dynamics 365 |
|---|---|---|---|
| HubSpot | $7 a month | Yes | −$58 a month (−89%) |
| Salesforce | $25 a month | Yes | −$40 a month (−62%) |
| Microsoft Dynamics 365 | $65 a month | No | This product |
Which Microsoft Dynamics 365 plan should you buy?
| Your situation | Recommended | Why |
|---|---|---|
| You need core sales force automation | Sales Professional | $65 per user a month. The entry point, and already dearer than most standalone CRMs. |
| You need customisation, forecasting and Copilot | Sales Enterprise | $105 per user, and the tier most Dynamics buyers actually end up on. |
| You need conversation intelligence and predictive scoring | Sales Premium | $150 per user. Bought for the analytics rather than the CRM itself. |
| You also need service, finance or supply chain | Budget each application separately | Customer Service, Finance, Supply Chain and Field Service are licensed individually. The Sales price is one line of the eventual bill. |
| You need a CRM working this month | Do not buy Dynamics 365 | Implementation is a project needing a partner or an internal admin. HubSpot or Pipedrive will be live in days. |
Verdict by who you are
Enterprise on Microsoft 365 and AzureYes
Shared identity, Teams and Outlook integration and one vendor relationship are real advantages when your estate is already Microsoft.
Organisation wanting CRM and ERP togetherYes
Few vendors credibly offer both, and the data model genuinely joins up.
Small businessNo
$65 per user before implementation, with no quick path to value. This is not a small-business product.
Company without a Microsoft partnerNo
Dynamics assumes implementation help. Without it, adoption commonly stalls.
Sales team living in OutlookCompare first
The Outlook integration is the strongest argument. Weigh it against the total licensing and implementation cost.
Should you buy Microsoft Dynamics 365?
Buy Microsoft Dynamics 365 if…
- Enterprises already committed to Microsoft 365 and Azure
- Organisations wanting CRM and ERP from one vendor
- Teams that live in Outlook and Teams rather than a CRM interface
Do not buy Microsoft Dynamics 365 if…
- Small businesses needing a CRM this month
- Organisations without a Microsoft partner or internal admin
- Buyers wanting a single, simple per-seat price
What leaving Microsoft Dynamics 365 would cost
moderate lock-in
Microsoft Dynamics 365 scores on public API. Portability 5/10 ; lock-in is the inverse. How this is calculated.
Specific Microsoft Dynamics 365 pricing questions
Each of these is a question with a different answer from the one above, so each has its own page rather than a paragraph on this one.
- Dynamics 365 CRM Cost Per User Dynamics 365 Sales costs $65.00, $105.00 or $150.00 per user a month, with a 30-day trial and no free plan. Other Dynamics applications are licensed and priced separately.
- Is Dynamics 365 Included in Microsoft 365? No. Dynamics 365 is a separate purchase from Microsoft 365. Sales Professional adds $65.00 per user a month on top of a Microsoft 365 subscription, which itself runs $7.00 to $32.00 per user.
Licensing is per application, not per platform
The single most important thing to understand before budgeting: Dynamics 365 is not one product with tiers. Sales, Customer Service, Field Service, Finance and Supply Chain are separately licensed applications with their own prices. The figures on this page are Sales only. An organisation wanting CRM and ERP is buying several products, and attach pricing for subsequent applications differs from the first.
Where the real discount lives
Published prices are the starting point rather than what enterprises pay. Dynamics is frequently negotiated inside a wider Microsoft agreement alongside Microsoft 365 and Azure, and the effective rate can be materially below list. If you are already a substantial Microsoft customer, this is the strongest commercial argument for choosing it, and it will not appear on any pricing page.
Dynamics or Salesforce?
Salesforce remains more configurable, better documented and supported by a far larger consultancy and app ecosystem. Dynamics wins when the surrounding estate is Microsoft: identity, Teams, Excel, Power BI and Azure all working without integration effort. The honest test is whether your organisation’s centre of gravity is already Microsoft. If it is not, the integration advantage disappears and Salesforce is usually the better product.
What to check before committing
Confirm which applications you actually need and price them together, including attach rates. Confirm whether Copilot capabilities you saw demonstrated are in your tier, because they sit at Enterprise and above. And confirm partner availability in your region, since implementation quality varies more here than with the market leader.
